“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” [Matthew 6:13]
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.”[James 1:13-14]
“And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.” [Genesis 22:1]
“Now, God doesn't tempt men, but God tries men, tests them. God cannot tempt you, but God can test you. And every son that cometh to God must be tested or child-trained before he can be a son. And if we can't stand chastisement, the Bible said we become illegitimate children and not the children of God, 'cause a child of God is borned of God, and he will stand the test anywhere, any time, on any condition (That's right.), a child that's borned of God. He that's borned of God, does not commit sin. Notice. Now, Job was going through a testing time. And Satan had told God, "I'll make him curse you to your face." See that old accuser? God said, "You just can't do it." I like that. God had confidence in Job. And notice, Satan came to him, and he done everything but take his life. And when all the troubles had happened to Job... I like to see him when that great hour of testing, when his members of his church came and accused him of a secret sinner. He knowed he was standing firm on God's provided sacrifice, a burnt offering; and he knowed God required that so he stood firm. Oh, I like to see him when he was setting on the ash heap, scraping his boils, his children gone, and all of his riches gone. And there he was setting scraping his boils. And his wife even said, "Job, why don't you curse God and die?" “ [God In His Word, Oakland CA, 57-0323]
“Noticing then, that when these brethren were down there they were put to a test, a very beautiful example of what a true believer comes to when he really accepts the Lord Jesus as his Saviour. He's always put to the test. Satan's still in the testing business. And it only comes about to help you. It's for your good. "Every son that cometh to God must be tried, chastened, scourged;" and other words, give a little thrashing, straightening up. And if God gives us some chastisement and we can't stand it, then we become illegitimate children and not the children of God. Now, man that's really got his faith set towards heaven, no matter what takes place here on earth, he's still got his faith set towards heaven. His friends may forsake him; his family may forsake him; his pastor may forsake him; but there's one that won't forsake him; that's God. And when your mind is made up, I like that. [Beginning And Ending Of The Gentile Dispensation, JEFF IN, 55-0109E]
“And He said, "Don't you take his life." And Satan done everything but take his life. His children got killed. And his cattle was killed. And everything was... All of his riches was lost. And he lost his health and everything but his life, set out there and scraped his boils. And his wife come to the door, and--and Satan got in her and said, Looked out there and said, "Why don't you curse God and die?" Said, "You look so miserable." He said, "Thou speakest like the foolish woman." See. Now, he's never said she was foolish; said she talked like one. See? Said, "You speak like a foolish woman." Said, "The Lord gave, and the Lord taken away. Blessed be the Name of the Lord." See? In other words, "Naked came I in the world," he said, "naked I will return. But blessed be the Name of the Lord anyhow. I never had nothing when I come here, and I will go away with nothing. But still blessed be the Name of the Lord." Oh, my. You know, God will just let Satan tempt us so long, and then He gets tired of it. You see? Satan had to leave him then. But Bildad and all of them still stayed there and said, "Why, you was a secret sinner." But Job stayed pat on this, "I am not a sinner." See?” [Thy House, Tifton GA, 61-0808]
You know, He loves to test us. He loves to see the reaction of your faith. Did you know that? God likes to see how you'll react. When you say, "Oh, Lord, I believe You; Thou art my Saviour. I believe that You are the Healer; I believe that You are the One Who gives the Holy Spirit; and the things that I am requiring, You are the God Who gives that." And then when you confess all your sins and promise God what you'll do if He'll let you get well, and then because it don't happen, you run off like a coward somewhere, God can't use that. There's no way for Him to use you. There's no way for Him to answer you, because He only answers by faith. Then all of a sudden you go away and He can't answer. But real true faith stands there, being sure that God is. Be certain that He is. And if God asks this thing to be done, to confess your sins and so forth, and you've done it, faith says that He is; it's certain that it's going to happen. Your request has to be granted. Oh, I--I hope you don't miss that. If you're sure of God, God's sure of His Word. He's only waiting to test you.” [Be Certain Of God, JEFF IN, 59-0125]
Before Abraham could see Elohim there had to be twenty-five years of testing. Before the Hebrew children could see the Son of God they had to go into a fiery furnace. Before Daniel could see an Angel he had to go into the lion's den. Before Job could ever see the resurrection he had to go in and lose everything he had; but then by a vision he saw. And if Job by a vision could stand so firmly upon a promise, how much more ought we to do, after Christ has raised from the dead and become the Firstfruits of those that slept, and sent back the Holy Spirit as a seal of promise upon us, that we too shall live. "Because, I live, you live also." Seeing His great Presence among us, working, doing the same signs and wonders that He did on earth, giving us the hopes. And we come to the resurrection and then remain on our ash heaps? Let's get off the ash heap today with a new vision, with a new power, with a new determination that we see God in His power. We see the resurrection of the things coming. [I Know, JEFF IN, 60-0417S]
“Then, when a man is born again, from Heaven, he becomes a spirit babe in Christ. And, then, when this robe of flesh is dropped, there is a natural body, theophany, a body not made with hands, neither born of a woman, that we go to. Then that body returns back and picks up the glorified body. That's the reason Jesus went to hell when He died, and preached to the souls that were in prison; turned back into that theophany. Oh, marvelous! Thank God! Second Corinthians 5:1, "If this earthly body be dissolved, this earthly tabernacle, we have another one." See, we have by-passed that, to come straight from God, the attribute; to be flesh, to be tempted and tested by sin, like Adam did. But when testing of His Word is over, then we are taken up to this body that was prepared for us before the foundation of the world. It is the Word there that we skipped, to come right around, down here to be tempted and tested. If we'd have come through that, there'd have been no temptation; we'd a-knowed all things. That's the reason Jesus knowed all things, 'cause He was Word before He was flesh. Then we become the Word. Here we are formed to the Word image, to be a partaker of the Word, feed on the Word, by being predestinated since the beginning; you see that little spark of Life that you had in you from the beginning, when you started your journey. Many of you can remember it. You joined this church and joined that church, you'd try this and that; nothing satisfied. That's right. But one day you just recognized It. Right. [Who Is This Melchisedec, JEFF IN, 65-0221E]
That puts a testing time. And the Devil pretties them women, and strips them down, and set them out there, to give you a test. Men, turn your heads. Be sons of God. Women, you dress like daughters of God. Don't answer for adultery yonder at the Day. If that woman, no matter how innocent... She might have never done nothing wrong, never even had it in her mind to do wrong. But when that sinner who looked upon that graceful form of that woman, knowing he's a male; and female sex is in one glands, and one, the male, in the other; and that sinner is going to have to answer for it at the Day of the Judgment, who did it, who is guilty? Not him. You. There you are, immoral.” [Is Your Life Worthy Of The Gospel, JEFF IN, 63-0630E]
“Way down in Egypt God said, "I have given you that land and all that's in it." Now, He never just said, "I'm going to pick you up, take you up there, and set you down." They had to fight for every inch of ground they had. God when commanding Joshua there, He said, "Be of a good courage. Be not afraid; neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee wheresoever thou goest." The Lord thy God is with thee, wheresoever thou goest. No matter what it is, how hard it is, how great the obstacle is, that doesn't matter. If it's down through the valley of the shadow of death, the Lord thy God is with thee wheresoever thou goest. Oh, how Joshua could call Israel together and say, "Stand here and watch the glory of God." God is with His Word. God made the promise. God said to Joshua, "Every place that the soles of your foot set, that yours. I give it to you." Amen.” [God Keeps His Word,  JEFF IN, 57-0407M]
And you go through a testing time. The church goes through a testing time. Each individual goes through a testing time before it can ever possess the gate of the enemy. Abraham went through it. Christ went through it. After Christ was filled with the Holy Spirit there at the river of Jordan, He went through a testing time. After Abraham was called out, put into his land where he was to be a pilgrim, then give circumcision and God met him time after time. Yet he had to go through the time of testing. Every seed of Abraham does the same thing, Abraham and his seed, an organization, a church.” [And Thy Seed Shall Possess The Gate Of His Enemy, Phoenix AZ , 62-0121M]
