August 2013 Newsletter: For We Walk by Faith, Not by Sight

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” [II Corinthians 5:7]
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.“ [Hebrews 11:1]
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” [Romans 10:17]
It is a strange thing, that man who was made in the image and the likeness of God and was called of Him to walk by faith, believing that God is, would choose to walk by sight instead of by faith. After his makeup, his being, and all that dwells in him was fashioned in the likeness of God... And God is that great Jehovah Who calls those things which were not as though they were. And man made to live with God in this manner, yet has he chosen to walk by his sight. He wants to be his own boss. He wants no one to tell him what to do. That's just the nature of man. It proved to be thus in the garden of Eden when he had lost his fellowship with God by choosing to go his own way, and not have any one to rule over him.” [Looking At The Unseen, Jeffersonville IN, 58-1003]
“Now, "Man shall not live by bread alone," said the Lord, "but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." And a man's physical being, to be taken care of, is not all the reason God put him on the earth. Because what He does with this physical being amounts to very little. It's his soul what counts. It's the inward man that did not come from the earth; it come from heaven, and that's the eternal part of the human being. But yet, strange that he tries to figure his own way out. And we find it so in the Scriptures. That when a man chooses to walk in his own way and do the way he wants to, God just let's him alone. Man must not think for himself, but he must let the mind that was in Christ be in him. We are not to think for ourself. We are to call anything contrary to what He said, as though it is not, no matter what our eyes claim to be. We do not live by what we see; we live by what we believe.” [Looking At The Unseen, Jeffersonville IN, 58-1003]
“Now, we hear so many people say, "Well, if I only had faith." Faith is--doesn't mean long, drawn-out prayer meetings. It doesn't mean long fasts. Faith is an unconscious thing. Your real faith, you're unconscious of it. You don't know that the faith you have got. It's an unconscious matter with you. Could you imagine Jesus questioning whether He had faith or not to stop the winds, or still the waves, or have faith enough to La--raise Lazarus up? Or... He never questioned His faith. Now, the first thing before we can have faith, we've got to have some foundation for faith. There's got to be something behind it.” [The Fundamental Foundation For Faith, Chicago IL, 55-0113]
‘Just like you come from your homes today, you probably want to return to your home, told your wife or your loved ones, "I'll be back sometime right after noon." How do you know you are? You don't try to wonder, "Have I got faith enough to go home? Have I got faith enough to drive my car? You just unconsciously turn your key on, drive on away and go home. See? It's a unconscious faith that does it. That's the way it is: in Christ we just unconsciously just say, "That's His word; that just settles it; there's no more to it." and go on. That's how we get well.” [Melchisedec The Great Prince And King, Jeffersonville IN, 55-0109M]
Your faith is unconscious. Don't press now, or jump. You jump away from it. It's right with you. Just relax yourself and believe. Just believe now, have faith. And be reverent, just have faith, just believe. Sometimes your faith is unconscious, you have it and you don't know it. That little woman had it; she didn't know it.” [A Greater Than Solomon Is Here Now, Dallas TX, 64-0306]
“And that's the way you believe healing. Believe anything God said. Just don't fight at it, and shake at it, and rebuke the devil every minute. Just accept it and go on. That's it. There's--there's nothing to be alarmed about. God said so and that settled it. So we just go ahead, knowing it's going to happen. Just forget about it. God said it, that proves it, I believe it, that settles it. Just... That's all you have to do.” [Jesus Christ The Same Yesterday Today And Forever, CHICAGO IL, 55-0116E]
“Now, if we lose faith, then we will never get a prayer answered by God. "For He that cometh to God must first believe that He is, and a rewarder of those that diligently seek after Him." So if we lose faith, our prayers are annulled; we get nowhere. So if all that we can think of this morning is the hold onto faith. Then if we lose faith, all our hopes is gone. And if we lose faith, all our spiritual reality is gone. For you cannot have faith in things that you see. For the things that you see are all perishable. If we look at some great person, or great minister, or a great congregation, they will all perish someday. And if we look at a great nation, our great weapons, they'll all perish someday. And then we must live by faith of those things that science does not declare. It's by faith that we believe.” [By Faith Moses, Jeffersonville IN, 58-0720M]
“Every promise in the Book is yours. Every amen and yea is yours. What you got to be worried about? Even old age, it shouldn't have a thing to do with it. Sickness has nothing to do with it. God promised, and God has to keep His promise. See what we're trying to do is get the scare away from you. "Oh," you say, "I'm afraid the neighbors..." Well, then, you ought to come to Christ. You wouldn't go at your neighbor then. See? All right, but I'm talking about those that are in Christ. Don't care what anybody else says; it's what He said. A Christian doesn't look to the things of the world. They don't look at what they see. They look at what they don't see, but what they believe. The Christian looks at the unseen. So we don't see what we believe. If it is, it is no more of faith, but faith is what you do not see and believe, to cause you to believe the One that give the promise is true to His promise.” [Faith, Charlotte NC, 56-0427]
“Now, you understand what I mean? See? It's by faith we do everything. Believe on the Lord. Believe on the Lord for a job. Believe on the Lord to hunt--to give you the wife that you should have. Believe on the Lord to give you the husband you should marry. Believe on the Lord to send you some new furniture, or if the--if the barrel goes empty and the cruse gets dry, and there's no food and the children are hungry. Believe on the Lord. Believe on the Lord for anything. See? As long as it's right, just believe on the Lord and "thou shall." See? It shall come. I've never seen it fail in all my life. God bless you.” [Thy House, Tifton GA, 61-0808]
“Precious Lord, our God and our Father, Thou art so good to us. You give us five senses to live by and to walk by in this earth, or to--or to touch the earth. We can feel things that's--that's to be felt with our hands, tangible things. You give us hearing that we can hear. We're so glad of that, that we can hear the Word of God, and by that, "faith cometh by hearing, hearing the Word of God." We're thankful for these six senses, Lord. May we maintain them all the days of our life. But may this super sense, may the sense of faith, that belongs to the believer, because he has to have it in order to believe... Lord, give us more of it. Oh, purge it, Lord, and try us, and fill us with Thy goodness and Thy power. Let us walk all the days of our life by the sixth sense, by the sense of faith, that's only given by Jesus Christ. That what we pray for, may we believe that we receive it, have no doubt in our heart, and You promised that it would come to pass.” [Super Sense, Jeffersonville IN, 59-1227E]
Our Bible Study Subject for August 2013: For we walk by Faith, not by Sight
"May the sense of faith, that belongs to the believer, because he has to have it in order to believe, Lord, give us more of it. Oh, purge it, Lord, and try us, and fill us with Thy goodness and Thy power. Let us walk all the days of our life by the sixth sense, by the sense of faith, that's only given by Jesus Christ."
